We in the district believe that the key to individual and community well-being is environmental and social sustainability, which is why we work for the development of local communities and the local economy.

New ways of using public space, such as community gardens, workshop communities and the presence of the former primary producer market, show the new social demand, which is also the driving force for change. This new demand gave rise to the unconventional concept of arranging the Havanna market and its surroundings and its unique implementation.

In 2024, the 26th FIABCI Hungary Gala was held, where the most successful entries were selected with the cooperation and almost unanimous opinion of a Hungarian and international jury.

The winners of the competition are selected based on a complex evaluation of the real estate development. The main judging criteria applied to the Hungarian competition were:
– Concept
– Architectural, technical, and construction standards
– Sales, financing, return on investment
– Environmental awareness
– Social utility

Our competition entitled Budapest XVIII. District Havanna Hetivásár Environmental Design won the special award of the Hungarian Chamber of Architects at the FIABCI Hungary 2024 Quality Award competition – based on the proposal of the domestic and international jury.

Overall, the Havanna Hetivásár building features numerous gestures that subtly fit into its narrower and more distant environment. In addition to its formal conformity, what makes the building even more special is that the community can feel it every day of the year, even when the market is not operating. This kind of quality thinking about the built environment and the weaving of new elements into everyday life can bring long-term positive change in society.
